Kamala Harris Introduces Running Mate Tim Walz at Raucous Philadelphia Rally

Democratic nominee calls Walz ‘the kind of vice-president America deserves’ as pair vow to take fight to Donald Trump

Kamala Harris introduced her running mate, Tim Walz, as “the kind of vice-president America deserves” at a lively rally in Philadelphia, highlighting the unity and enthusiasm within the Democratic Party ahead of the November election.

Positioning their campaign as a “fight for the future,” Harris and Walz were frequently interrupted by applause and cheering from thousands of battleground-state voters at Temple University’s Liacouras Center. The crowd, wearing bracelets that twinkled red, white, and blue, marked the largest gathering Harris’s team has seen to date.

“Thank you for bringing back the joy,” a beaming Walz told Harris after she introduced him as a former social studies teacher, high school football coach, and National Guard veteran from Minnesota.

“We’ve got 91 days,” he declared. “My God, that’s easy. We’ll sleep when we’re dead.”

Harris, who has served as vice-president to Joe Biden for three and a half years, emphasized that Walz would be “ready on day one,” and described the race between their ticket and the Republican team of Donald Trump and JD Vance as a “matchup between the varsity team and the JV squad.”
