Trent Weitzel, the visionary behind Double Dubs, demonstrated extraordinary commitment as he braved a snowstorm for over 1,500 miles, traveling from his renowned restaurant in Laramie to Highmark Stadium in Buffalo, NY. Armed with his award-winning chicken wings, Weitzel’s culinary journey began 15 years ago, gaining recognition after triumphing at the 2018 wing festival. “I knew I could compete with the best out here, and winning the wing festival and sauce awards, I absolutely love bringing Wyoming wings,” Weitzel expressed.

Despite facing a challenging snowstorm during his trip, Weitzel navigated through Nebraska and Iowa, ensuring safety amid icy roads caused by an approaching ice storm. Initially not a Bills fan, Weitzel’s allegiance shifted when quarterback Josh Allen, hailing from the University of Wyoming, joined the team in 2018. “As soon as Josh became the Bills quarterback, I knew him from Wyoming, and then it kind of just fell hand in hand, so we became Bills fans along with everybody in Wyoming,” shared Weitzel.

Upon arriving in Buffalo, Double Dubs received a warm welcome from the fervent Bills Mafia, ready to kick off the tailgate festivities. Despite sub-zero temperatures delaying the wild card game, the Bills Mafia embraced the challenging weather, enhancing the tailgate experience. “It didn’t take the wind out of their sails; they actually relished in the whole lake-effect snowstorm, and it just made the tailgate more interesting,” remarked Weitzel. The Bills Mafia’s enthusiasm, even in adverse conditions, showcased their unwavering support for the Buffalo Bills during the playoffs.
